You know what’s good about where I’m living?
Free TV. Also, PVR for that TV.
I’ve been watching the new shows, so you don’t have to. Or you can, so you can formulate your own opinions and decide for yourself what you’d like to watch.
I’ve been paying more attention to the comedies, as I tend to do. Mostly because of my short attention span, also my preference for lighthearted TV after a day of using my brain.
Here’s a few of the new shows I’m liking…
New Girl
I’m kinda loving this show. Zooey Deschanel can be a little weird, I mean they’re over the top with the dorkiness, like I know I’m quirky and weird, but know one is that bad. But I love her and they might be exaggerating but I like seeing this kind of character, it’s refreshing because it’s a different take on the quirky girl, it’s not the Rachel Green/every Jennifer Aniston character girl out there.
I’m pulling for Jess and Nick to hook up, because they’re cute together (loved the chicken dance last week) but I also don’t want them to go down that route either. It’s too Ross and Rachel and too soon. It should probably not be attempted at all.
And any show with a douchebag jar is awesome. I’m afraid it was only in the pilot and they’ve decided not to bring it back for other episodes.
Pan Am
I’m enjoying Pan Am also, I love that it’s a (mostly) female cast and they’re showing the workplace for women back in the 1960′s. I love the flashback in air travel, while I wasn’t around back then I do recall a time when you’d dress up for travel and of course the difference in security. I miss that.
I love the hair and makeup as well as the clothes, not only the uniforms but their “street” clothes. It’s a really interesting concept and I hope this one sticks around. I don’t watch too many drama’s so I’m happy to have this new one in my arsenal.
Honorable mentions:
-Whitney
-2 Broke Girls
There’s also some bad shows, I hated the new Will Arnett show, Up All Night. I’m not a big Christina Applegate fan but I love Will and Mia Rudolph. The two episodes I watched I couldn’t wait to be over. The concept is not original and I can’t believe that these two parents could be so flaky and naive.
I also didn’t like Ringer, with Sarah Michelle Gellar. I never watched Buffy and I’ve forgotten what a bad actress she was, every role I’ve seen her in is very reminiscent of her role in Cruel Intentions. I watched the first episode and couldn’t be bothered to waste more time, I didn’t think that it could go very far and the name of her character, Siobhan, was like nails on a chalkboard to me.
It also has the worst special effects, check out the boat scene from the first episode…
Other bad ones…
-How to be a Gentleman
-Free Agents (already cancelled)
-Charlies Angels (admittedly I only watched one and it was more cheesy and hilarious for it’s insane stunts that I really wasn’t concentrating on the plot)
What shows are you enjoying this year? Anything you hate?

I’m sure you saw my tweet, but I love Person of Interest this year. Batman meets CSI meets Big Brother technology. I think it’s really cool and keeps me interested. It’s like a mini movie each episode. And Jim Caviezel’s mysterious hotness is awesome.
I haven’t seen that one yet, when is it on and what channel?
Thursday nights on CBS. Give it a whirl. I guarantee Jim Caviezel will not disappoint. Download old episodes, so you’re in the loop too. I think it will be episode 4 this week.
