The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.

I believe…

-in spelling it colour, neighbour and humour. Screw you Google toolbar and Microsoft word for trying to change my Canadian ways

-in my friends

-in evolution

-that lychee nuts are damn well the greatest food ever

-that the perfect lip gloss can change your life

-in finding what you’re looking for, no matter how insignificant to everyone else, and how it can make your day

-yelling every once and awhile

-in everyone having the right to believe in what they want, just don’t get upset when they don’t believe what you want them too

-that everything happens for a reason

-that everything will work out in the end

-in coffee being a necessity to wake up on weekday mornings

-in constructive criticism

-that anything is possible

-that a trip to ToysRUs is an awesome way to spend an afternoon… even if you’re only there with adults

-that swearing at other drivers is necessary

-that you can’t change anyone

-that teaching is a pretty thankless job

-in sunny weather

-in the idea that there may be something greater than us out there, but I have yet to see the proof

-in art

-in music

-in listening to Christmas music at random times during the year

-that the James Morrison song “Nothing Ever Hurts Like You” is one of my favorite songs right now

-if someone asks you how you’re doing, don’t give them your life story, just respond “fine.” Especially if I don’t know you. It’s common courtesy, not a freaking invite to bitch about your job.

-that life can change in the blink of an eye

-that the Okanagan is truly the most beautiful place in Canada, if not one of the most beautiful in the world… here’s hoping it survives the fires (and that jackasses that throw their cigarettes into the forest or have fires when there are bans should be criminally punished)
